Bodacious Cases was featured three times on the ABC World News with Diane Sawyer, Made in America segment in December 2012.
Why is it important to you that products are made in America? This week we asked you on Facebook and Twitter and you responded in hundreds of comments, “likes,” and emails.
A lot of you recognized your family’s service to our country in the military – both veterans and those currently serving abroad. Others said you’re tired of seeing “Made in China,” as more jobs go overseas. Instead, you want to help rebuild America. So, if that means paying a little more to give your neighbors jobs, then you said you ‘re willing to do it.
As a 25-year-old entrepreneur, I chose to keep my water-resistant iPhone 4 and iPhone 4s cases 100% made in America, and here’s why.
Yes, by making products overseas, we can save money and maybe make a couple extra bucks, but to me it’s not so much about the money, but about losing the jobs of our mothers, fathers, sisters, cousins, aunts or uncles.
It’s also about honoring the men and women in uniform – thanking them for their hard work and sacrifice to make America what it is today. It’s because of the service of veterans, like my father and grandfather, that we have the option today to choose where our products are made.
To me, it’s also important to keep my products 100% made in the USA, so that my nieces and nephews could have jobs in the future. I don’t want to worry after I’m gone about whether they’ll be okay. Right now, I worry about that a lot. I worry that if we keep going in the direction we’re headed… will they be able to choose where they work and what they do? Will they be able to pursue their dream like I am? Because, personally, I love being able to hop in the car to drive four hours to my manufacturer, engineer, designer, packaging plant, etc.…
It has been amazing to hear why having products be made in America is so important to you, so thank you for ALL you’ve shared with us.
Lets keep on making a difference! Little by little people are starting to realize the importance of buying products made in America. Be sure to visit the Made in America Movement Facebook page and The Made in America Store for more businesses that are 100% made in the USA.
